Snapshot Saturday

I didn't get a chance to post anything for Foto Friday, so you get pictures for Snapshot Saturday! These pictures are from today. We went to a park that has a wading pool with some fountains for the kids to play in. Kennedy loved it. I think her favorite part was climbing in and out of the pool. About a 1000 times.

Checking out the water with Dad.

Throwing the ball into the pool and chasing it.

We tried to get a picture with Kennedy looking, just wasn't happening!

Playing with Daddy again.

Practicing my runway walk.

This was only my 999th time climbing out! Lets do it again!

Do we have to go home already?

Cloth diapers

When I was pregnant with Kennedy, I never in a million years would have considered using cloth diapers. Now, the more I have read about them, the more interested I have become. They are so much better than the diapers with pins our moms used! I still have not tried them, and most likely won't with Kennedy. But, when the time comes for Baby #2, I am going to at least give them a shot. I have several friends that use them (and also use disposables when out). I hate to admit it, but the main reason behind using them would be to save money. Although, I care about the year, I'm not that green.

For all the moms that use cloth diapers, I wanted to pass along this great contest that Angie is sponsoring at Babycheapskate. Cruise on over to her website and enter the contest. While you are there, check out all the great deals she has posted! And she is devoting this week to cloth diapering, so there is loads of information! Here is the link for the contest: http://babycheapskate.blogspot.com/2008/07/giveaway-12-bumgenius-30-diapers.html

Foto Friday: Engagement

It was 7 years ago this weekend that Brady asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was Saturday, July 21st 2001 and we were both in Michigan visiting my family. Brady was living in St. Louis and I was getting ready to start my senior year at Trevecca. I knew that the proposal was coming. We had looked at rings together and I actually got to help pick out my ring. We didn't get to see each other often (living in two different states). I was putting the full-court press on him, so finally gave in!

He took me to a park near my parents house. His original plan was to take me to the swings and propose there. We went to a park on our first date and spent some time swinging and talking. But, when we arrived at the park there were a bunch of people on the swings, so he quickly changed his plans. They have a nice nature walk at the park, so we started to walk the trail. There is a big hill that the trail goes around and he decided we should climb to the top of that hill. It was an adventure just getting up there. We we got to the top, he got down on one knee, said some really sweet things (which I can't remember, I was too excited to get my ring!) and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I (obviously) said yes!

Mommy's little helper

When I was pregnant with Kennedy, a lady in our church made these cute aprons for us. One for Kennedy and one for me. They are matching except mine says "Kennedy's Mommy" and hers says "Kennedy Mommy's little helper." I had mine on a few weeks ago and Kennedy was "helping" me in the kitchen, so I put hers on and she loved it. She thought she was so grown up! She didn't want to take it off and was dancing around the living room later that evening. I have video of the dancing. I'll try to find it and figure out how to upload it on here!

Here are the pictures:

15 Month Appointment

Kennedy had her 15 month appointment today. She now weighs 22 pounds, 12 ounces. This puts her in the 50th percentile for weight. She is 33 1/3 inches, putting her in the 98th percentile for height!

She is healthy and everything looks great (including her ear-infection prone ears). Hopefully, this means that we can avoid getting tubes in her ears.

New pictures coming soon!

Foto Friday

I stole this idea from another blog and thought I would give it a try. Every Friday I will post a few pictures. They might be old pictures (will have to scan some really old pictures in!) or something more recent. Either way, there will be a couple of pictures that I will share.

These first two pictures are from visits to Bermuda. Brady's sister, Kelly, lived in Bermuda for several years and we were lucky to go and visit twice. It is a beautiful island. They have gorgeous views and a lot of stuff to do there. As an added bonus, Brady got to drive around on a scooter all week! Apparently, someone did not use enough sunscreen at the beach!

And just because I know you aren't here to see pictures of us, here is one of Kennedy during her first few days of life. She is 15 months old and has grown and changed so much!

12 Month Pictures

We took Kennedy to have her 12 month pictures made and I wanted to share a few with you. Valerie Marsh does an incredible job and if you are looking for a photographer in the Nashville area, I would recommend her.

Welcome

Well, our other family website is no longer available (due to the fact I wasn't going to pay for another year), so we started a new (free) blog here. We will try to update this page often. It will be a great way for family and friends to stay connected! Feel free to leave us a comment and come back often to check for updates!
